I never thought I'd actually ever attend, but I knew it was where I was meant to be (I already bought an NYU sweatshirt, long before I ever thought I'd get in). I got the rejection letter as an undergraduate and was crushed. Four years later, I had a Bachelor's degree under my belt and thought, why not one more? I took the leap once again and applied for grad school at NYU. The day I received my acceptance letter, I cried — a lot.
It was an incredible year and a half at the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute. I met amazing people who pushed me to step outside my comfort zone.
This past May, I crossed the stage full of violet pride and became a proud member of the NYU family.
